Christmas Breaks
Christmas Eve
Get in the festive mood early. Choose afternoon tea in the Resident’s lounge or join us at 2.30pm for our trip to Pooles Cavern, Buxton’s 2 million year old natural limestone cave with hot Mulled Wine on your return and time to prepare yourself for the evening ahead.
Whilst Jes and his team are preparing your candlelit dinner, join us for a welcome cocktail in the George Potter Bar. This will be followed by dinner in the Restaurant and a visit from Burbage Band for Christmas Carol Singing. After dinner enjoy Coffee & Liqueurs or attend Midnight Mass at St John’s Church (3 minutes walk from the hotel)
Christmas Day
Breakfast in bed- enjoy a leisurely start to this very special day. Open your Christmas presents over a luxurious breakfast of Fresh Orange, Local Butchers Bacon Sandwiches, Croissants, Conserves and freshly Ground Coffee.
After Breakfast, time to promenade- meander around the Pavilion Gardens or ask for our 3 mile walk around the Georgian splendours of Buxton and learn a little of the history of our Spa town. Over a glass of Bucks Fizz and our special Homemade Canapés choose your Christmas Lunch from our Traditional menu.
After lunch play board games in our Games Room, try our Christmas quizzes, snooze in the TV lounge, watch the Queen’s Speech or get some air by trying out our Treasure Hunt- just for fun.
A special screening of a Christmas DVD in our Paupers Pit Theatre situated in the basement of the hotel. Late afternoon- Christmas Cake and Tea Between 7.30 – 9.30pm a delicious informal Buffet Supper will be served.
We have selected another DVD for after Supper.
Boxing Day
Enjoy breakfast in the Restaurant before the Boxing Day Concert in the Pavilion Gardens 11am- 1pm. With a Hot Mulled Wine on your return.
Light buffet lunch to be served in the Shrewsbury Room before Snow White Pantomime in the Opera House. Seats in the Dress Circle.
Join us for afternoon tea after the panto, then time to prepare for our Candlelit Boxing Night Dinner.
Chilled Champagne at 8.00pm before your Boxing Day Pantomime Dinner.
27th December
A hearty breakfast- then time to leave. Spend the morning exploring the area or stay on extra days. We can advise you of the many interesting places to visit or you can try our exclusive White Peak Tour.
